Floors built to last decades

Wood floors take more punishment than almost anything else in a house. Furniture legs, dog nails, kids, moving boxes, years of foot traffic, and Middle Tennessee's swing between humid summers and dry winters. Done right, hardwood shrugs all of that off for decades. Done wrong, boards cup, gap, and show every scratch within a year.

We install solid and engineered hardwood, sand and refinish floors that have gone dull or dated, repair damaged sections so the patch disappears, and match new wood to what is already in your home when we are extending a floor or replacing part of one. We acclimate the wood to your house before it ever goes down, which is the step that keeps floors flat through their first Tennessee summer.

Tell us what you have in mind and we will give you a free, written estimate, with a realistic timeline, before any work starts.

Hardwood FAQ

Questions homeowners ask us

How much does hardwood floor installation cost in Murfreesboro?
It depends on the square footage, whether you choose solid or engineered wood, the species, and how much prep the subfloor needs. Refinishing an existing floor costs less than a full new install. We come out, measure, and give you a free written estimate before any work starts. Call or text (615) 266-4109.
What is the difference between solid and engineered hardwood?
Solid hardwood is one piece of wood top to bottom, and it can be sanded and refinished many times over its life. Engineered hardwood has a real wood top layer over a plywood core, which handles humidity changes better and can go over concrete or radiant heat. Both are real wood on the surface. We help you weigh the trade-offs for your home.
Should I refinish my existing floor or replace it?
If the boards are solid wood and structurally sound, refinishing is usually faster and less expensive than replacing, and it can make a tired floor look new. If there is water damage, warping, or the wear layer is gone, replacement makes more sense. We will look at what you have and tell you honestly which way to go.
Can you match hardwood to my existing floors?
Often, yes. We match species, plank width, and stain color as closely as possible when we are extending a floor into an addition or replacing a damaged section, so the new area blends with the old instead of standing out.
How long does hardwood installation or refinishing take?
A single room refinish can be a couple of days. A full-home install runs longer, and stain needs time to dry and cure between coats. We give you a realistic timeline with your written estimate, and you usually need to stay off the floor for a day or two after the final coat.
How does Tennessee humidity affect hardwood floors?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity, and Middle Tennessee gets a real swing between summer and winter. We acclimate the wood to your home before installing it and leave the right expansion gaps, which is exactly the kind of detail that prevents cupping and gapping down the road.
Is the interactive Floor Studio on this page showing real installed floors?
No, and we want to be upfront about that. Those room images are computer-generated previews meant to help you picture a color and tone side by side, not photographs of a job we completed. Bring us a photo of your own room and we will help you land on a real wood species and stain that matches what you saw.
Are you licensed and insured, and is the work guaranteed?
Yes on both. Champion Property Care is licensed and insured, and every hardwood job is backed by our 1-year written workmanship warranty. If something is not right, we come back and make it right.
