Division 9 is the Finishes section of the spec book: drywall, flooring, paint and coatings. On most jobs that means three or four subs, each one showing up after the last and pointing at the seam, the dent or the sanding they inherited. We do several of those scopes with one crew, so the person priming the wall is the person who finished it.

We are a small outfit on purpose. Our lead technician has more than 30 years on the tools and is on the jobs himself, not managing a rotating crew from a truck. That also means we take on a limited number of builder jobs at a time, and we will tell you plainly whether we can hit your dates before you award us anything.

Interior and exterior paint on new builds and remodels. Primer, two finish coats, trim and doors to spec, and every color and sheen logged by room for the walkthrough.

Hang, tape, float and sand, texture where the plan calls for it, and patching after the plumber and electrician come through. It leaves ready for primer, because we are the ones priming it.

Send the plan set, finish schedule, paint spec and flooring selections. If the house is framed, we walk it too. You get a written bid broken out by scope, plus the COI, workers' comp certificate and W-9.

Scheduled to Your Sequence
Drywall after inspection, primer before trim, floors finished before the final coat, or however your superintendent runs it. We confirm dates ahead and tell you early if something upstream moves ours.

Punch, Closeout & Warranty
We work the punch list before the buyer walkthrough, hand over the color and sheen log by room, and come back for anything that is ours under the 1-year workmanship warranty.
Backed in writing
Every job carries our 1-year workmanship warranty. If something we did is not right, we come back and make it right.

Questions builders ask us

What is Division 9?
Division 09 is the Finishes section of the CSI MasterFormat, the numbering system most construction specs and bid packages use. It covers the surfaces people see and touch once the structure is up: gypsum board, flooring, painting and coatings, ceilings and tile. Champion Division 9 is our builder program for the parts of it we do ourselves: painting, drywall, wood flooring and stains, plus finish trim and punch lists.
Can one crew handle drywall, paint and flooring on the same house?
Yes, and that is the main reason builders call us. The crew that finishes the drywall is the crew that primes and paints it, so nobody blames the previous trade for a bad seam. You schedule one sub for several finish scopes instead of three, and you get one bid and one invoice.
Do you carry insurance and workers' comp, and can you name us as additional insured?
Yes. We carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage, and we send a certificate of insurance before we start. We can name the builder, general contractor or owner as additional insured when your contract requires it. A W-9 comes with it.
Can you bid from plans?
Yes. Send the plan set or a PDF along with the finish schedule, paint spec and flooring selections if you have them. We return a written bid broken out by scope, so you can award us one scope or several. If the house is framed, we would rather walk it too.
Whose paint spec do you use?
Yours, if you have one. If you do not, we will recommend products by room and surface. We work in Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore and Behr, and we log every color and sheen by room so touch-ups at the walkthrough and warranty visits match.
Where do you work?
Across Middle Tennessee. We are based in Murfreesboro and work in Smyrna, Nashville, Antioch, Mount Juliet, Franklin, Brentwood and the towns between. For builder work farther out, send us the address and we will tell you straight whether we can staff it.
Is the work warrantied?
Yes. Our work carries a 1-year written workmanship warranty. We handle the punch list before closing and come back for touch-ups on anything that is ours.
